Transforming Communities: The Story of Daba Gray Water Point

Situated in Debre Genet Tabia’s Woreda Kola Tembien, the Daba Gray Water Point once provided a vital source of clean water for the community. However, Malfunctional issues left locals traveling long distances or resorting to gathering water from contaminated sources.

“Our primary challenge is the lack of expertise and leadership to prompt action,” explains Adane Niguse, a father of six. “For the past two years, we’ve been consuming dirty water, leading to many cases of waterborne diseases like diarrhea.”

Recognizing the urgency, REST prioritizes safe and clean water access. Actively engaged in maintenance, restoration, and construction efforts, REST partners with the community to address the issue.

“REST has initiated discussions with the community regarding maintenance and upkeep,” Adane shares. “The community is thrilled and eager to contribute wherever possible. We greatly value their compassion for humanity.”

At REST, we are committed to transforming communities by ensuring access to safe and clean water and fostering health, and well-being.
