Recovery and Rehabilitation

While addressing humanitarian needs, REST believes in a nested and continuum approach to guide its recovery and rehabilitation interventions. We provide needs-based multisectoral recovery and rehabilitation support to affected communities, focusing on:

Agricultural Recovery Support: Empowering farmers to resume farming and livelihood activities by facilitating access to critical inputs and tools. Achievements include:

  – Distribution of 32,320 quintals of cereal seed to 150,582 households, supporting planting on 52,857 hectares.

  – Distribution of 66,098.5 quintals of fertilizer to 132,238 households.

  – Provision of farm tools and access to plowing support to 7,061 households.

  – Distribution of livestock and poultry to enhance livelihoods.

  – Provision of multi-purpose cash support to cover plowing and harvesting costs.

  – Support to veterinary clinics and provision of livestock feed processing machines.

Natural Resource Management: Supporting communities in planning and implementing watershed management activities and creating local employment opportunities.

Irrigation Rehabilitation/Reconstruction: Restoring irrigation access to 1,220.5 hectares of farmland, benefiting 4,028 households by rehabilitating 22 irrigation schemes.

Health Response: To restart minimal health service provision and provide medicine and medical equipment support to 85 health facilities.

Education Response: Supporting back-to-school efforts by providing scholastic materials and blackboards and rehabilitating school WASH infrastructure in conflict-affected schools.
