Improving Public Health Outcomes: The Wurich Water Point
“Water-borne diseases may affect us if we cannot promptly maintain and manage our water points. We are currently in danger, especially with reports of cholera emerging in several areas of Tigray. Therefore, having a clean water source is imperative for our survival,” emphasizes forty-year-old priest Selomon Kiros.
REST’s timely intervention has been crucial in preserving Wurich, the water point in Werda Kola Tembien. Today, the community maintains the water point in close collaboration with the REST team.

“Except for the distance and lengthy queues, we have relied on rivers for two or more years, exposing ourselves to various diseases. You see, this river served as our primary water source,” Selomon adds, highlighting the challenges faced.
At REST, we are dedicated to ensuring clean water access and safeguarding communities’ health and well-being despite adversity.
